Cheating Love
Chapter 2
Charlotte and Pete turned up at Harry’s place and were welcomed in by a weary looking Harry. The house was pumping with music and people. McFly, managers and friends were there. Charlotte recognised a few of the people from Harry and Tom’s year book. She smiled and nodded noticing many were drunk already and that Pete and her were overly dressed
“So much for formal” Pete muttered into her ear. Charlotte looked around for a second
“Look at the McFly boys and the girls” Pete looked over and saw they were also formally dressed. He sighed but nodded going to grab himself a drink.
At 8.30 many of the drunks were going home with the few people who hadn’t drunk too much. Charlotte and Pete decided it must have been over and started to leave
“Sorry about that!” Danny said to them
“Ellie decided that she should have a party before the dinner” Dougie muttered tugging on a thing that Charlotte could only guess was a tie.
“She forgot it was only a dinner for a few of us” Danny replied “Dinner’s ready so let’s go to the dining room…Dougie leave that bloody tie alone” Dougie was still tugging at it
“I can’t it’s too tight” he told them
“Well fix it” Pete said speaking for the first time
“I…” Dougie blushed “Don’t-”
“I’ll do it” Charlotte stopped him from finishing it “We’ll meet you in there”. She looked at his tie before untying it
“What” he asked
“You’ve done it wrong” she laughed
“Oh” Dougie ran his fingers through his hair “oops”
“I’ll teach you how to do it one day, okay?” she told him as she finished it.
“Ellie, don’t you wanna help Harry bring the food out?” Giovanna suggested sweetly
“No, I got my nails done today” she said showing her nails
“Don’t worry I’m nearly finished” Harry said who had rolled his eyes at Ellie’s remark
“I’ll help” Charlotte told him. Harry’s back was turned but Pete noticed Harry’s face turn pink at her words. Charlotte walked into the kitchen after him
“So what needs to be taken out?” she asked and Harry pointed to the fridge
“Salad” Charlotte went to the fridge and got out the salad,
“This looks so good! I can’t believe you made it!” Harry shrugged as Charlotte started to leave the kitchen. He looked up to look at Charlotte, before taking a deep breath
“Uhh Charlotte, you looked really pretty tonight”
“Thanks” She smiled before leaving the kitchen.
After dinner ended, which was at 9.30 everyone retreated to the lounge room
“I’m gonna go to bed” Ellie said, her eyes on Danny
“It’s so early Ellie”
“I need my beauty sleep” Charlotte raised an eyebrow at Giovanna, who laughed
20 minutes later Danny excused himself for the toilet and Dougie who couldn’t stand it any longer finally erupted
“How do you put up with her?” Harry stared at him blankly
“Ellie” everyone told him
“Oh” he laughed “she maybe a little high maintenance”
“A little?” Dougie muttered
“But she’s wonderful and” he paused “uh never mind” Danny had returned and was looking nervous, his face was flushed but no-one except Charlotte noticed. She made a mental note to ask what that was about later.
At 11pm Charlotte and Pete got up to leave. Pete went to the bathroom as Harry walked Charlotte out to the car. He leaned against the car with his arms folded
“Thanks for coming”
“Thanks for inviting me” they shared a smile
“I meant what I said earlier Charlotte; you look so” he paused “amazing”
“Yeah she does” Pete said walking towards the car
“Well I’ll see you tomorrow, okay” Charlotte said
“Yeah” Harry replied as he let his lips touch the side of her cheek, causing her to blush.
“Bye” Pete said his voice filled with angriness. As the car doors slammed shut and the car reversed it was quite obvious they were arguing. As the car hit the road Harry gave Charlotte a wave which she returned bringing a smile to her sad face.
